Thanks for feedback on Anti-fraud tools Just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback on tools to reduce fraud profile activity on this site. We've leaning to implement a policy that contact information is allow to be sent after each side of an email exchange has sent one email to the other. This is only the 2nd email sent could contain contact info. We'll try this first to how it improves the site experience. Hopefully, it reduce members from "broadcasting" their contact information in every initial email they send. Of course, we'll start with an automated system to identify contact information. When people report a member sending contact information strange ways (email me using blah at that hot male site), they will be dealt with harder than someone who simply forgot about the policy. Again, we want to make sure that people are able to get together. By creating this policy, it will still retain the philosophy of the site while improving the quality of the profiles. Thanks again! |

Also, I don'tknow if ya caught my latest drum roll on the magazine question entitled, who wants money?, but tha punches would hit alot harder if I could respond to each comment individually like I could in tha blogs, if GM would hurry up and buy me a gold membership.

I have one Q that pertains to some of the profiles I come across in concerns to the TOU about advertising. Recently I have come across a few profiles that are of advertisement for "parties" (gangbangs and orgies) that are telling of the place, date, time, and charge of admission and the amount in dollars. Does this not go against TOU of advertisement on this site or is this allowable?

Is there going to be a warning that is highlighted so people can easily see this? cause alot of potential guys send me emails with an email addy in it, and they may not read the warning if it is not obvious. maybe if they do put it in the first email, it should give a message saying that it cant be sent? kind of like when you put in the wrong confirmation number and it gives you that little red message at the top.

luvpump, I just notified your customer service people about a blatantly obvious fake profile. This kicker of this one was that it was using a pic stolen from a porn site, and actually had the model's name and website info on it. (the profile is called hottieaddy if you want to take a look). How can your customer service people allow a pic that has the website info on it? I can understand that they don't know all the porn models out there so they can't identify them off the bat, but when I see pics with the model's name on it as well as the website, I get the feeling that your people either a) are blind as bats or b) allow it because it makes your site appear to have more members.

I find it funny that I ask a Q that also relates to fake and fraudulent profiles and have 2 disagree votes on that Q with no explanation of why disagreeing with that question asked. So many different techniques people use to obtain an individuals private email address, and I just listed one asking about it.

You need to take a look at this Andrew; furthermore, I know that this has been reported by several members, yet nothing has been done about it as of yet. SouthernGrandma = DarkSecret969 whom was listed as #1 most active group member on the Groups homepage. The photo that individual was using under DarkSecrets969 was a young Black Shemale, and now it is an older white woman that is suppose to be 70, Then there is BirdWatcherLover = SheMale4TheWorld whom also was listed as one of the most active group member on the home page of the groups. The photo used before as SheMale4TheWorld was of a young White Shemale and now the photo used is of an older while female suppose to be 83. Clicking on DarkSecret969 and SheMale4TheWorld will say member not found; however, go to the group Beware SPAMMERS those member handles were active in and click on them and they will take you to the new handles they are using. How in the world can a supposedly legitimate member have their profile handle changed to something else that is so obvious and drastically different from the other one they had go unnoticed as this?

Not only that, but when your customer service people apparently either a) are blind or b) ignore profiles (such as the one below) that blatantly advertise services unaffiliated with Various, Inc., one has to wonder if a) you don't care or b) these people are in fact affiliated with Various, Inc. in some way. Shellie Marie, I have to agree with TechSteve here also about the postings in that group being insignificant to the topic here about fake profiles. The fake profiles that make there way on this site in my opinion should be a main priority in being solved as it is starting to discourage many legitimate members from joining, being active or continuing use of the services offered to them (standard or premium member) and is starting to destroy the reputation of this site by disappointed and disgusted members that post in the Magazine Sections, Advice Lines, Blogs and Groups complaining about the fake and fraudulant profiles. In my opinion and several other members I know there are many contributing factors as to why this site has had a large influx of fake and fraudulant profiles and one is the type of wording in the advertisement and description that is used. I will not list those phrases here; however, if Andrew wants my feedback be it here or emailed to him is entirely up to him and only then I will present them. Nick

I know it bugs them whenever somebody plays their game a lot better than they play it. Get rid of the list......problem solved.......chances are the group would never have been created, just like a few other groups, if it wasnt for the list. Steve

Personally, I need more than a couple email exchanges and perhaps some private chat room discussion before providing personal email information. lonelywoman, You should email customer service for that. mentioning someones name is against the sites terms of use. just make sure you let them know the groups name and the post title.

I posted [post 136683] and notified here about it, as have others refered to the same profiles. (bottom of page 1, or top of page 2 of my blog) Really concerned that nothing appears to have been done about them..... i mean REAlly concerned ...... removing or shutting down a profile is instantanous for many legit ones shutdown by accident i have noticed. ... So, why does this go on...and on....and on ...and.... Also, we get Norton warning about Trojans, last one was described as very dangerous info gathering scripts...labelled as from here yet ....... from others here? or, from ????? I welcome the new update about the emails. The only thing is as from this morning Saturday 10th June, i cant mail anyone if they havent mailed me. When i view profiles the message box thats supposed to be white is now grey thus stopping me from emailing anyone but when i recieve mail i can reply to that person. I have mailed them again because i dont have a problem viewing profiles, but still have the problem mailing anyone. So im taking that what they have said in their reply is a load of codswollop. I used to be a gold member but let it run out because i still got the same problems as standard members and when i asked them why , they came back with , theres a bug in the system. The only abuse mail I send out to .. is members of my group who have no respect for me or others .. as for complaining .. It was a privilege that was taken away from US .. not just me .. so kindly direct ur rudeness elsewhere !!! Oh btw thanks for posting this in the CEO's blog .. I truly believe you are stalking me once again ... maybe u should let it go eh !!! I only ignore and block rude and obsessed members who cannot abide by my group rules ... everyone who runs a group on this site have their own rules !!! Its still the same as before probably, but like the help page says about popularity priveledges, it carries itself over after three days and when they added the new email settings it probably had to start all over again. today is the third day I think, since they added that....

Now I have to pay to be a Gold member and to have someone to respond to my email at least twice and there is still no assurance that person might be a spammer or a bot. How about you have your people do their job! I can spot phonies on this site in the hour or two I spend here just reading the profiles and looking for inconsistancies. How about making everyone pay? A spammer or bot is not going to want to pay if they will lose the money when they are caught. It might cut down on the number of members initially but I would rather have fewer REAL people than the fakes, spammers and bots the site has now. I know you are in the business of making money, but how about a bit of customer satisefaction for those of us who already pay, otherwise I can tell you I will not renew my membership. post 370563

also, one thing...the chat rooms here dont filter out other websites, maybe they should...I think that is one reason why they join up here too, cause they can just flood the chat rooms with adverts for the website. It is especially popular in the busier topical chat rooms like the hot tub and cyberfantasy chat room (and some of the others too). And probably should have those same filters for the IMC too.

my group has been the victim of your new protocols to stop fraud. my group description which has gone unchanged for the few years since it's creation. however, with these new anti-fraud rules my group's description was reviewed and my group denied because my group description allegedly had contact information in it. there is no contact information in the descriptionl. there are no email addresses, phone numbers, instant message, etc. in the description. my group description only has what the group is about, the city we're in, and the set day and time that we hold chats in the group chatroom, nothing else. i sent the description for update in the hopes that when you reviewed it you would see your error. however, the group was denied again. what's going on and what can i do? this is upsetting a very successful and active group. all these changes instead of improving is making things worse. i don't know if this some sort of error bug of yours but what can i do to get my group active again. here is the group i'm talking about if you want to review the decription, BBWS in houston . the onlyt thing else i can try is blanking the description which is ridiculous, or removing our chat times since i don't know what your reviewers is mistakenly viewing as contact information. please, help sweetnurse25

Today I had an abuse/threat incident that I reported and I'll expain that in the context of this Anti-Fraud thread. There have been obvious changes to the IM and email info (which really is not contact info, only communication info). I have a strong belief that this is pointless in the broad scheme of things - more a facade than real security of people. I've written about this many times to the support folks. And called, them and have had very bizarre answers regarding this. Contact info helps people track someone down physically. Identity theft uses phsysical contact info and personal info. DOB is personal info that should be hidden to cut fraud, identity theft, etc. I've had support folks tell me to fake my DOB, to prevent ID theft. Well, if faking it is suggested, that proves that it does not have to be on the site. Year and Month are really plenty for anyone to have for a personal's site. Today I saw a comment to one of my advice line postings. The creator of the Question, posted a very non-veiled suggestion that I should be hung (killed) which is an illegal threat in anyone's most narrow view. I reported it online, and I called to back it up. I paid for the call since we who pay for gold no longer have a toll free line. Rather than taking action against the person/profile of the one who made the threat, your staff person simply removed his comment. Now, by looking at that AL question, he will clearly know that I reported him. Talk about VICTIMIZATION to the highest degree, this is unbelievable. Not only was I targeted once by a member who often makes prejudicial remarks, I was slam dunked by the failure of the abuse reporting process to take him offline. So, if I get this right, legal posting of ones communication info is met with heavy, swift inactivation of that person's account, but death threats which are a more serious TOS violation, are an illegal action are met with action against the person who complained. In effect, your site and staff become party to his illegal action as further supporting his ability to continue and to see who that someone turned him in. What am I missing here?
