Early detection has certainly made a huge difference in the outcomes. You are right that everyone has been touched some how by breast cancer.

I knew a woman who had a breast problem, Her daughter urged her to get it checked. She passed is off as nothing to worry about. But - - it got worse. She finally did get it checked, but too late. Breast cancer. One breast was removed. Then the other one, then she later died from the cancer. I urge anyone who thinks they have a problem, go RIGHT NOW, and get it checked by a trained professional. If it is nothing, then good. If it is something then it just might be caught early enough to keep it simple. A woman's breast is a wonderful thing, please take care of them!!!!!

Thank you for spreading this important message. You look great in pink, and it's not a colour I remember you wearing often. I'm on the search today, for some actual "Pink Ribbons", for my post tomorrow. Too bad our local office of the Canadian Cancer Society has closed down, as I could have picked up a "thingamaboob". Check out this week's HNW, for an explanation. Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

They have a campaign here every year called "Bosom Buddies" helping women get breast exams. A friend and I considered starting a campaign called "Breast Friends" where we would exam all women's breast for free!

I worked in Radiation Oncology in one of my past positions, Breast Self Exams, or you can have your partner assist you with your monthly Self exams, and 3-D mammography and ultrasound imagery, are some tools to aid in early detection. Also testing for genes if your have a family history of Breast Cancer. This may not be glamorous, but early detection and treatment save lives. There are many new treatments and care routines to help save healthy Breast tissue. A supportive partner is also a great aid as you go through your screenings and if need treatments. Save the TA-TAs.

I have a few that succumbed to breast cancer and a couple that have survived it. I am sorry for your loss. Hoping for cures for all cancers. Elephants have a gene that eliminates or stops cancer from forming in their bodies...Elephants are the top of the 40 some species of animals that have a cancer stopping gene. Amazing!!!
