Try the new v3.0 Instant Messenger before we release it

Ok, don't tell anyone but we are secretly getting ready to launch our new version 3.0 of our instant messenger. Our team has really improved the last version - the 3.0 version is far more stable than the last with all the current features. It also has MUCH better webcam and sound capabilities. As the software has been 100% re-written, it is now much easier to add improvements. As we didn't want to release it right before the 3 day weekend, we're going to wait until next Tuesday (probably) for a full launch. However, if the URL accidentally got out, perhaps people might give it a try... only warning is that our QA team is still doing testing on it so no guarantee that it's 100% ready.

With the new updates that arrived to the blogs yesterday (email about new posts and the most watched list) problems have accompanied them. The new posts list hasn't updated for about oh, 15 to 20 hours now. It's a shame that things aren't watched on your end for at least a few hours when something new goes in. Here's hoping your IM update doesn't take out the site.

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

I was not involved with this past week's push of projects - I'll talk with the project manager to review their work. Thanks.

Andrew replies on 9/1/2006 10:54 am:
OK, turns out that they had a bug in the script that updated the cover page - it has been fixed now - thanks again!

Things are better already now, great! Even Europe on beyound midnight

But how is the new messanger? What can we see?
I'd like to see at least the location (as looking for real dates only ) and the membership (makes things easier if I know the people are able to see my profile).

Andrew,

I'm sure many people appreciate your adding new features to the site, but wouldn't a new server be more appropriate?

I have high speed internet and this website runs very slow, reminds me of dial-up speed.

You still haven't corrected the problem with the Friends Network. The Delete function doesn't work, as people still show up.

How about a chatroom strictly for bloggers?

These issues have already been addressed by other people...

I will report that immediately after clicking on AdultFriendFinder.com it changed to AdultFriendFinder.com when adding the new account....I went through the processing of signing on to xmatch with my AdultFriendFinder id with absolutely no prob...perhaps not a glitch just a feature? Might be a little confusing to some folks tho...

Downloaded it and ran it . Hit the AAF site selector and it dissappeared. Xmatch works for AAF? Maybe I'll reload and try again.

Downloaded it, tried to run it but AdultFriendFinder does not appear in the "Choose a site to login" window. And so it goes. As of this point in time The flash IM (cannot see what the other person types) and HTML (dozens of people show up in my "private" message center) are all but useless to me and the current stand-alone works intermittently. I do appreciate your efforts in trying to improve your product, however, it does get frustrating when things suddenly stop working. Thanks!

That is good news on the Messenger the downloaded version that is in effect now does not work well for me and never did. It would always shut down or interfere with some other program.

It would be nice trying out a new one. I have been using the old version html, that they recently updated.

Again, thanks for the upgrades.

Whenever I want to see profile of a standard member I am asked to upgrade the membership,it means standard members also cannot view each others profile unless both members get their membership upgraded. This is unfair.

I have now read this 4 times. I have this blog on my watched list. It keeps showing up as a new blog. This has happened with a few on my watched list but this one is definately stuck.

The watched list is broken

Bye everyone, it was a blast

something I have been wondering about for a while, maybe you can help me.

I wondered why there is a popular blogs by active response for all and then one for men. That means the guys are on two lists. Wouldn't it be fairer to just have a male and female list like you do for the most viewed/popular profiles.

Bye everyone, it was a blast

Andrew replies on 9/3/2006 5:20 pm:
Hard to always be "fair" As there are more men than women on this site, it is hard to show popular men without their own section (we do similar for couples if you long in as a couple).

    Quoting  :

I can verify Mole's reporting of:

1) cams and chat windows drawn almost off screen on new (XP SP2 fully patched)

2) Friend bar has age follwed by null (55null)

3) Invisible to men function not working?

Found another issue with alpha 24...

on the status bar with the email count....for instance mine was flashing at one....click on it and a pull down appears....

null...
null...
null...
null...
null...
Inbox

That's exactly how it appeared, altho the icons next to each null looked like this:

1) opened and replied
2) unopened
3) opened
4) opened and replied
5) opened and replied

Hope this helps

I didn't mean that they shouldn't havre their own list. I was talking abouthe blog list not the most popular list. Men seem to be on both lists on the blog main page. There doesn't seem to be a couple one. This isn't a personal issue for me, I just wondered why men were on both lists and women didn't have a list, per say. There is one for all, then one for men. I wouldn't say it would be unfair to split these into one for females and one for males, I also don't reckon it would be hard.

Alpha24 appears to now be reporting friend age correct, apparently by a tweak on your end, but the previous problem I reported above with email alerting still exists.

To add to mole's comment about accepted friends...this happened to me last night althought I cannot confirm it because I did not attempt to chat with this person. It seemed odd to me that she would appear so quickly in the list....

Okay Update:

Alpha24 now properly displays the Email pulldown subjects instead of "Null". Again, apparently something tweaked on your end since I didn't receive an update. Good work.

then /IMC3

Findings on IM 3.0
Locks up - unresponsive to mouse clicks - sometimes takes 2 clicks to switch windows - sometimes takes up to 60 seconds to respond.
Loads automatically on startup, even though removed from as many "startup places" as can be found.
Prompts me to load version 3.0.0 (imc_300_adult.msi) even though that has already been done.
Most windows slide off to the right so most of the window is not visible.
Apparently, does not know the sex of the people using it. Things I'm a female or that I'm looking for men.
Doesn't cascade windows. Just dumps them on top of each other.
Showing multiple users inside the (supposedly) private IM windows as does the HTML IM version.
Never get a pop-up to say that I'm receiving a message (and don't know if I'm supposed to). I just get an open IM window.

I'm uninstalling it and will try to install imc_300_adult.msi by itself.

Locks up for 30-60 seconds at a time - very unresponsive to attempts to drag windows to another location.
Loads automatically on startup, even though removed from as many "startup places" as can be found.
Most windows open on the right side of the screen so most of the window is not visible.
Apparently, does not know the sex of the people using it. Things I'm a female or that I'm looking for men.
Does cascade windows, but starts on the extreme right of the screen. If you have too many windows it will throw it off the screen.
Never get a pop-up to say that I'm receiving a message (and don't know if I'm supposed to). I just get an open IM window.

I have uninstalled this version also and will wait for the next "patch".

The entire aware site, especially those paying members and those also on high speed have been talking...and the 'speed' is that of a zombie...we would rather have speed, not DSL acting like dialup ONLY ON THIS SITE OUT OF WHOLE INTERNET than 'other upgrades': [post 473443] [post 479688] Is this your only blog [post 483976] [post 485901] [post 488390] [post 505610] [post 505688] [post 505980] [post 506608] [post 506687] [post 506975] [post 507032] [post 507032] [post 507149] [post 507213] [post 507366] etcetera etcetera etcetera....
