Active blog list now based on non-poll comments Based on what seems popular opinion for blogs, the active list now only uses unique commentors on non-polls for ranking. Eventually, we will probably add a smaller factor for poll comments. Perhaps in the next release, we will be moving the top poll list over to the magazine - and use it as a way to help promote the blog section of the site. |

" the active list not only uses unique commentors" I think you meant NOW instead of NOT. Makes it a lot more fair to the people that spent time writing blog posts instead of throwing up a poll.  Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

Ahhhh the American way of life....always a popularity contest. The fight to be at the top of the list is what makes this country (and Blogland) strong. I think Blogland needs an anthem.

I am personally glad to see that. My other question is when is the abuse department going to do something about [blog Samantha192] stealing the blogs of others here, and from other sites? I have informed the authors of the other blogs of this, so I am sure they will be contacting you guys soon. I hate to be the one to point fingers, but the facts leave one with no other choice other than to ignore the problem. If we ignore our problems, it doesn't mean they will go away. Sorry to go off like this, but my last profile got deleted supposedly for the same reasons I am stating here, although I gave credit to the authors I took reference from when I posted. What is good for the goose is good for the gander as well.

I cam ehere to say...... That when you sticky your blog for a certain amount of time, it screws up the flow of the blogs for a while. It is rather annoying. There has to be a better way for you to get your announcements out. Such as a notice at the top of the main blog boards in big red letter sor something and a link to it.

Andrew- Thanks for the hard work on the blogging features. Can you turn a bit of your attention to the IM? Unless I missed a memo about it being taken down for some reason, none of the html, flash or standalone IMs are working.

The trouble with what Samantha is stealing is, the blogger in question isn't from this site, but Blogspot. I went and took a look. AlwaysArousedGirl posted Throbbing to Blogspot on March 16th. Samantha posted it here on March 22nd. As it is stealing from another site, the links to what Samantha stole won't work here. However, will the links work to the other site in site mail? If so, I'd be glad to give you the links. Unless of course, the original author has sent the links to the abuse department here already. I know she's contacted them and has created a handle here, purely to ask Samantha to remove her stolen entries. The trouble is, Samantha is going to continue to find new places from which to steal. She's been busted twice now. Once for stealing from daisy_lincoln and now for theft from someone on another site. She's only going to find someplace and someone else to steal from.

look i love the people i have made friends with on this site...i run a ohio group here and its got some of you more active members of this site in there.....my question is , when is the site as a whole going to stop teasing us with this petty stuff ??? helpfull color / size toys at the bottom of post is nothing !!! come on now and let the html codes in so we can have unique profile / blogs / groups like the other sites !!! spice it up some becouse its getting boring for a few who think everything looks the same !!! thats just my personel opinion and maybe some of the 43 people i have at mutual sites becouse things are far from original here....we love the people here but we need more !!!

Not to change the subject, but I noticed there was a different search option on the Blog home page being tested on the night of the 23rd that filtered by member handle. It worked very well on listing members Blogs by their handle; in addition, the second search box query very well when I did a search on blogs with my handle attached to other members with their blogs. Nice piece of work Andrew(!!!) I hope you decide on using it too Nick

Ya know what, I am tired of this crap. How abotu instead of adding new stuff to the blogs, you FIX THE SHIT THAT IS BROKEN FIRST!!!!!! Such ass.... Comments disappearing Blogs disappearing The blogs stopping from rotating for 4 hours, then a hailstorm of blogs flowing threw burying many many blogs from ever being read. All you are doing is adding blinking lights and flashy gizmos, when the problem is at the core of the blogs. Fix what is broken first then concentrate on adding the trimmings. Adding content on top of existing problems is NOT going to make it all better, it is just going to compound the problem more in the future. These problems I have brought forward to you have been happening for months and months and still have yet to be fixed.

Andrew, I agree with Sexyfitwoman, this must be a major bug or code problem that still hasn't been sorted out, but I trust will in the future. Again, thanks Andrew for everything you have done to improve the site, I am not one to complain when there have been so many enhancements, but people like me need this feature as sometimes I am impulsive and post things in haste and which I later regret posting once I have calmed down!! I have noticed that the blogs dont give a message when people have chosen not to allow comments to their blog at all. It gives a message with the other option where the member has chosen to only allow people from the friend network to comment, but not message saying that this person does not allow any comments.
