New Main Page is Live A new main page design is now live for 10% of US/English users. Search, What's Hot, and Live Action are consolidated into tabs at the top of the screen with links to your blogs, groups, and other community activities (including a feed) at the bottom. You currently have the option to toggle between the original homepage and the redesign. For those of you trying out the new version, tell us what you think. We appreciate your feedback! |

I *think* I like it. But a question about the "latest activities" column... is that the latest activities across the entire site? Or is there a way to maybe tailor that to the latest activities of my network? Just it seems useless to me to know what some dude in Latviz is uploading or what video some chick in Uruguay just added. 2022... it HAS be better, right?!

I like the design of the Tabs at the top; however, I am not impressed with the "Latest Activity" section of the design. Personally I can care less what the activities of members from all over the world. What I would suggest would be to changing the "Latest Activity" feed to be based upon the members geographical locations or cupid settings, or/and their Network of Friends they have. I really do not think that many members really are interested in the activities of members that are not a "match" for them. Basically what I am trying to express is that majority of members that live in the U.S. really are not going to be interested in the activities of those in other countries, and visa versa.

I'd like My Online Matches to take into consideration my cupid settings. I'd also like them to take into consideration the sexuality of the women I'm shown - there really is no point in showing me profiles of lesbians, not too surprisingly they are not "matches". Though that is a criticism of the old homepage too. I don't understand why you've moved "Viewed by" into the pull down menus but have put links to my own photos and videos on my homepage. I don't look at my own photos, I have no interest in videos (I don't even have any videos). I see absolutely no point in making "Activities" international, or having so many presented. Why do I care that some women thousands of miles away have uploaded new photos? The activities of strangers are of absolutely no interest to me. They are irrelevant - I will not take any interest in them, I won't scroll down the page to see which women in the US have loaded a new photo. It's just a waste of space. If your aim is to help people meet up then keep it local and relevant. I do wonder if you only show international activities in an attempt to cover up the lack of local ones... At least you've put back the link to my own blog - don't know why you took that away the last time you updated the homepage.

I like the general format and functionality but I think some of the content and links need to be need some work. Here's some of my thoughts: (1) The list under the member's profile on the upper left is either useless, redundant or incomplete when compared to the old version. For example, "Photos" and "Videos". Who's? Mine? The old version has "Manage: My Photos | My Videos". Perhaps using the same stuff on the old version in the new format will be better. (2) The Community box on the right side: either get rid of it totally or trim it down by removing the graphics and text size so that it doesn't make the entire page twice as long as it should be. (3) I understand the need for advertisements, especially for helping to offset the cost of allowing free memberships, but one is enough for free members and maybe should be none for paid memberships. (4) It took me a few minutes to realize the "140" under "My Status" was for the characters remaining when entering a status update. (5) There is a "Upload Photos/Videos" link on the left above "My Status" and a "Upload" button on the top menu. Only one is needed. I vote to get rid of the left one. (6) I like the new tabbed area at the top. If this new format becomes permanent, I hope other pages adopt this where appropriate such as the "Members interested in" page where you can see who's viewed/hotlisted/winked you. This is a good start, and probably the best preview of a new feature you all have given us. Still needs some work and polish by someone that's an expert in user interfaces rather than just some nerdy programmer more worried about how it works than how it looks.

What shows up currently in your activity feed is based on one's Cupid settings. In the future, users will be able to customize their feed according to their Friend network and Hot List. Not one of the women appearing in the Activities section on my homepage is in the UK. The US, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland... all way outside my cupid settings. Another thing that's gone missing is my Activities Bonus - I can see why you'd like to prevent me from checking how I'm progressing to get my free membership extension...

I can't agree more. I clicked over and immediately clicked right back off. I had the most giant wall of international dicks shoved in my face and that was a TOTAL turn off. No faces, just closeups of men jerking off and squeezing it so hard it is purple and blue. This is NOT a turn on at all for me. I do think it should be a 'tab', great idea there JN!! . I can note that this is not my cupid settings either as I have couples as well as almost everyone one of the photos was/is international. I can sympathize totally with the men not wanting to turn it on and see other men's dicks in their faces, I don't want to see some woman spreading her crotch open with semen all over it. I DID have one of those and it really turned me off. It was at that point I clicked it off. That was on a 'couples' profile, which I don't have in my cupid settings at all. . I am sure there will be those that like this, but my vote is NO... go for making another tab. Leave the option to use the old one. Btw, didn't we JUST REDO this page as we all chimed in on what tabs and everything? Why are we doing this again when there are larger problems here?? Activities should match your gender and age settings, but not distance. If you're seeing both men and couples but that is not a part of your settings, then it is a bug. I'll look into this right now. woman couple (man and woman) group couple (2 women) I do not have Men or couple (man and man) checked. The distance I do not have specified with the cupid settings though. Anyhow, the "latest activities" shown on the new home page of mine is showing the activities of male members; furthermore, from countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Austria, UK.

For the sake of argument I went back and counted. I have no less than 7 photos of men's penis' so close up I can look down their urethra, and they all had semen all over their dick and their hand. This is just gross.... sorry. I am not turned on nor interested in looking at anything on their profile by that photo....there were more penis photo without the semen. I had about 2 face photos. Of the photos there all of them but 3 were from Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Guatamala, and other foreign countries. The ones from the U.S. were from California. I am in Michigan for the record. The ages went from as young as 22 up to 72.

This is my opinion on what I see regarding to the new homepage without know what bug issues they might be. I think I prefer this then the present style(original). The present(original) is just fill up with too much of nearly the same kind of image. It smart to put them, What'Hot and Live action into not visible unless someone interest, they then click on the new button to check. Next is about the top left corner where show my profile photo. For the new email,there is already a email button on the AdultFriendFinder tool bar.Most of the other stuff can be found under 'My stuff' button if one interest to look on those stuffs of theirs. Don't bother me much with the new style on this. With the 'my blogs' and 'my groups' showing on homepage is very good idea. But since some of you might watch more then 4 blogs other then their own, and also they might be in more groups, it might be a good idea to add a button beside this the 'My Blogs' and 'My Groups'to click to view more of blogs they watched and more group they are in. I don't see any Latest Activity, not sure why. It blank and I look on my cupid preference setting(not sure if that where to look)Cupid setting was checked to my choice. So not sure why not showing anything at all. All the rest look ok to me to the right side.

There is apparently another bug. I am receiving emails to the my register email account of notifications that my profile was viewed. This is something that I opt out from in my account settings of email notifications. Furthermore, I just checked those settings, and they have not changed. [image]

Well, I just checked on the new homepage style of mine again. I now see something on the Latest Activity. Also noticed the Activities Bar on the bottom gone. It show as what I had set on my activities bar on the bottom if I use the Original style of homepage. Only showing my Network friends activities I had checked to see. The last few days I saw a lot of unknown members pop up alerting me of their activities issue was gone on the Activities Bar(when I am not using the new homepage style), and now fixed seeing back my network friend if I use the new homepage style on the latest Activity section in the center. So now I see where the Activities bar feature will be going using the new homepage style. I think that a very good idea as the Activities bar on the bottom is very annoying to have.

Well is seems that the new home page design has definitely produced bugs in the system; specifically to the email notifications sent to registered email account of members. It appears that all my account settings are going out the door in concerns to notifications sent to my register email account. This time I have received an email notification that a member responded to a group posting of mine. The crazy thing is....the group post they responded too was not a posting authored by me. In fact the posting was authored by you, Aryana, in the Live from AdultFriendFinder group. No, I do not have any postings on my "Watched Threads" list. The only conclusion that I come up with is that the member is in my network of friends. However, their posting made had absolutely no relation to doing with me; thus, I should not receive notification regardless, but I am.

Right now it's in an AB test mode. So we'll be tracking results of the test over the next couple of weeks to see which version is preferred. In the meantime, we're taking in feedback, and so far the biggest issue has to do with what members see in their activity feed. We do intend on those activities to eventually be highlighting news from your friend network and hotlist, although there are no discussions right now about removing images from the activity feed altogether.

Being a standard member my opinion means doodly squat but I'm going to say it any way. You guys keep messing with all this ..... fluff .... crap. Why don't you make changes to this site that really make a positive impact on the use of it. Number one is make the block feature in the blogs include blocking any posts from the person being blocked from being seen across the whole forum. You do that sort of thing in chat rooms. AB No Bozos

There isn't exactly a bug. There is a new email notification campaign that was launched an hour ago. If you have all the email notification preferences OFF, you would not get any mail. If you have selected ONE type of email notification as ON, then the new email digest would be sent. [image]

Found the problem with the email notifications. It seems that the "notification" alert on the site navigational bar settings override the settings done in the members account manager.

I just saw a change on the New homepage under 'My Blogs' to the left. Earlier, I saw the first as 'My own blog' and when I click goes to my own blog home. But now that got replaced, and show me 'Create a blog post'. When I click on it, it don't go to post a blog page, instead it show me to 'Edit Your Blog Settings' page. [image]

I don't mind the new page. There are some things about it that I actually like. My Blogs, My Groups (thanks for bringing that one back to the homepage). I don't even mind the tabs up top too much, but it was more convenient to see the hottest stuff and live feeds on a single page without a click. Here's what I don't like: on every new homepage you still list the most popular blogs, groups, etc...it's a self fulfilling prophecy. If you put something on the front page, they are going to get more hits. Why not have random blogs/groups or local blogs/groups on the front page instead of "the cool kids" who get more hits because you're promoting them? Also, what's with the activity feed? Show me what my friends or locals are doing, not someone I'll never meet or even say hi to. Lastly, email notifications: now I'm getting emailed every time someone looks at my profile (even though I had my preference set to once a day)? That will get irritating really fast. Aryana. The point raised by JapaneseArse (not quoted due to space considerations ) re activity bonus link is important. If you do not make this prominent people will lose out, and think you are trying to make it harder for them to get their free entitlement. It is easy to slip up and miss something for one month out of twelve so handy reference point important. Considered in conjunction with the whole 'Autorenew turning itself on' saga, members will be led to believe that things are being stacked against them, seemingly always to their financial detriment, and to the financial advantage of the company.

Le5t me be just plain blunt--you people eff up more things that work well and your contmnual attepmts to improve things falls flatter than a pancake. The new message center has less than half the features found on the old version, and the new is just trifling at best. If you wnt to do something to improve the site, DO THIS: Stop all unauthorized multi-profiling, use ISP addresses to track and remove trolls who, to my certain knowledge, are using old profiles left to them by members who've moved on and left the site. Multi-profiling trolls are the worst threat to this site--they falsely inflate your membership munbers by a huge margin, abuse other members by using fake profiles to waste against their targets--a removla of a fake profile does nothing to address the member who is using the site as a platform for personal attacks against other members. Well when the message centre was rolled out, I made it extremely clear I did not want it, it did not work and hey suddenly the old one was back, I was happy. Now its going to be made permanent, it does not work and yet again I do not want it. I don't want to have to delete every bloody message I have deleted in the last 8 months yet again like I did the first time. As for the new home page, yet again the same phrase comes to mind I don't want it as usual you guys mess with things that work and ignore the stuff that doesn't.

Does anyone else have problems clicking on photos and nothing happening? Every page is full of javascript errors and the video tab shows no thumbnails of users videos. Tried 3 browsers, two different operating systems, and two different internet connections

Ok.. I have an issue that keeps popping or rearing its head. I change my location to the places I visit since it is the only way to locate members in that area. When I change my geographical location I get denied. I have changed it back and get denied also. My other issue now is this... I live in Columbus Ga. Why does it say that I live in Columbus Fl, when in my geographical location page it says Columbus Ga. It IS supposed to be Columbus Ga. Is there a way to correct it? Thanks in advance. T

Ha Ha ~ your wasting time what i think is you should spend time fixing bugs and things members have requested they want , not on changing the site which in the past has cause more problems and has upset the membership i have asked many times for things that worked well when i first joined to be put back and they still havent been ,, so many of us request the same things but AdultFriendFinder just keep saying you pass on our suggestions to your development team but all you really do is ignore these requests ,, so sort these things out first !!!

As tired as I am of getting an email every single time some 65 year old man looks at my profile (younger is fine, lol).......there is one thing I've found unbelievable... Why and how is it that, when calling support, they want my site's password to verify who I am??????? Than, if I refuse that, they ask for my entire credit card number? What's next, bank account info? In this day and age there are a few things I will NEVER give out, and I shouldn't have to pressure the rep to speak with a manager to bypass that rediculous demand!!! The site has really gone down hill since I was last signed up, and I've been on in one way or another since 1998. Sure, you'll always have plenty of horny young guys to suck in for a month or two, but many of your billing and constant 're-up/turn on auto bill' pressure tactics will scare those with a brain off......the above might have been the last step.

I think she cares about her work, is intelligent, and is able to have a laugh and not take it all too seriously. Hence my little joke with her on Christmas Day, I thought she might smile, not take offence, because she has a sense of humour, unlike some. If I did not respect her I would not joke with her. Community (people though, Aryana, previously Ryan) have an extremely difficult job to do, they are the front line interaction between site and members, the most effective interaction we have. They are not responsible for the state of things personally, and I do not like to see them personally attacked, I wish people would stick to the issue. The site is falling apart, worst I have seen it, and that's saying something ! My understanding is that it is due to the antiquated code base that the site operates on, which has been patched and patched for years and years. We were promised a 'new site' with a 'ground up rebuild' all new coding, which is the answer in the long term. I don't know what happened to this, in my absence all talk of it ceased, I don't know if new features (homepage etc) are 'new', and the site is being rebuilt from scratch piece by piece, in which case there is some hope... or whether they are overlaid onto the existing base in which case it's just shit going on top of shit again. It is not possible to maintain anything effectively indefinitely by patching shit on shit, eventually yo have to rip it all down and start again, to continually repair rubbish is ultimately futile in any arena. If the foregoing is the case then I for one will just give up, as there is no point in talking about it all ad infinitum when there is no possibility of solution due to an outmoded and broken down site, The bugs will just multiply from the current infestation level, and we will just report more and more, ever decreasing circles. In addition this group often gets bogged down with what is trivia, pages and pages of rambling about same old shit and personal campaigns, this is a great hinderence to a clear picture and genuine progress, a new medical term has been coined to describe this phenomena.. Obsessive Posting Disorder ! The net result is that important stuff is lost in a sea of blah that we've all heard before and is boring. I am not saying that we should not revisit issues, far from it, the major issues should never be allowed to drop as far as I am concerned, of course there would be disagreement about what constitutes a'major issue'.. but I think that most people with a balanced mind, realistic view, and no personal agendas, would probably pretty much agree. BUT Aryana (Community) is a responsible officer for the company, we are customers. We are entitled to substantive answers to our questions, and in the time frame specified by the company. There is already much less time and interaction than previously, to the point where it is barely workable, a query arising now is not replied for two weeks minimum, and in the event of delay potentially much longer or not at all, hence the need for some things to be brought up again and again. To me, that is not acceptable service or acceptable practice in any way shape or form. The company is not making the most of this resource (this group). I do not blame Aryana (or Ryan). But I do blame the company for the terrible lack of communication on this site, and the grossly inefficient 'customer service' the worst I have known on a website, and the technical problems which have got to the point where the site infrastructure is nothing but a joke,and the bots, and the highly inefficient and erratic abuse function, and the diabolical inconsistent and slow post approval function. None of this is the fault of Community (Aryana/Ryan}, but it is/was their job to reply to us, and it is not unreasonable to politeley ask that Aryana does so, she's a big girl, I'm sure she can look after herself, and will make up her own mind whether or not folks are being unreasonable and/or disrespectful. I believe the whole Community/Live Group function is grossly under-resourced by the company, demonstrated by the lack of response on Community Blog and this group, has been like that for ever. I believe it would be most wise of the company to allocate more resources to this section to improve information flow, regain some credibility with the membership, improve customer relations, and save work for other depts by explaining stuff, cos lord knows nobody in customer service can, they just read shit off a page and don't understand what you're talking about. So to my mind this is a valuable function which should be supported by management, invested in and improved, decision makers please take note ! (No hope) In the meantime we have the right to ask questions and not be ignored by the company or criticised by other members. It is the company that is in the wrong, Aryana represents that company, not personally responsible, but it is her job and I expect it to be done myself, I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation, otherwise they might just as well close it down. It also amazes me how so many members have one rule for themselves, and another rule for other members. Brown-nosing company staff will get us nowhere, neither will accepting that is ok for them not to do their jobs. Just to be sure, this is NOT directed at Aryana, but at THE COMPANY, and under-resourcing and lack of concern about the concerns of members and the state of the site. That is what we are here for, well in theory anyway, some of us at least, and if we don't do it then we might as well not bother at all. And if the company don't do their part we might as well not bother either. So there ya go ! I've joined the ramblers association and taken up a loada space, but at least there is some content, not all hot air and a re-hash of my last 25 comments

My feed back would not be pretty. You do not listening to customers. The things that need fixing, don't, and fix and the things that are working fine, only to work worse and bug after bug after glitches. So if it ain't broke leave it. Your improvement to the site seem to be more on the demolition, glitches and error messages, Advertising us where ever, and that new message center must have been done by a bunch of high school computer nerds. Have we every complained about the message center?? But lots of other complaints that never seem to be fixed. Well that is my venting for now LOL

But allow you to give you my take on it... First let me say that I've been as pissed at this site, and Community, as anybody, you can ask anyone, I've shouted, I've banged my head against the wall. But I interacted quite a lot with Ryan, via blog/group/live chat, to a lesser extent with Aryana, I've put Community under as much pressure as pretty much anybody here over the last couple of years... but you know what, everything I've seen indicates that both Ryan and Aryana are decent folks, switched on, and with the sense of humour vital to survival, in these dodgy portals Neither strikes me as the sort of person who comes to work each day, puts their feet up on the desk, drinks coffee and pervs all day, ignoring their blog and annoying the shit outta people, while they jerk off all day (some of the day, obviously ) !! But this led me to thinking... WTF is going on ??? Two possibilities : 1) Community staff wank all day and don't give a flying fuck. And are quite content that they can seen to fail in their duties by the entire membership and colloeagues. And the big chiefs don't know. In which case I am completely wrong. 2) The big chiefs underfund this section, Community/Events/P.R. (and additional responsibilities) to such a degree that it is not possible for them to do their jobs as they would like to, they are restricted in what they say by company policy, instructed to prioritise duties other than Community. Community have an impossible job. They have to try to defend the indefensible, somehow, because that is what they are told to do by entities higher up the food chain. The site is seemingly falling apart at the seams, the fixes don't come, (ref my previous comment re 'patches' & 'shit on shit' / Site Rebuild from ground up) The Company does not facilitate this section working anywhere near as well as it should... you might want to consider why ??? And what we can do about ??? I have been thinking for some time and have an idea... I'll come back to that in my next post, but I think Spambalaya was along the right lines... but with a twist... ATTENTION ARYANA, I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've written about this but I'll try one more time. 1. The new home page is just plain stupid. 2. When I log in I am STILL getting a splash screen for the cobrand sites which I AM NOT a member of. 3. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the sent mail on the classic message center is not saving emails. AND when I click on the soon to be live NEW message center has nothing in it and neither search nor filter work. There's no inbox, no sent, no conversations, nothing. Not being able to keep track of emails completely sucks!!!! The IT dept needs to be fired. The PR dept needs to be fired. The advertising dept needs to be fired. Find some competent employees or risk being charged with false advertising and fraud for taking people's money and not delivering a damn thing. Different groups within AdultFriendFinder work on different parts of the site. Designing and releasing a new home page takes some time from engineers who fix bugs, but on the whole it's a different group. Bugs are fixed according to their importance. We start with things that prevent you from using the site in and move to the things that are irritating but not critical. Each bug is assigned a priority and gets fixed in turn (or not fixed depending on what's critical). I've stated before that we, as a brand, will not stop working on new features. We want to continue to build engaging, fun, and interesting features that add to the site and community as a whole. This community consists of millions of users engaging with hundreds of thousands of pages of activities and content constantly. Continuing to build and grow is a part of staying dynamic and current, and that is not something that is going to stop. I understand that members are concerned with bugs that affect their experience on the site. I try my best to address them individually when members reach out to me personally through this website and off-site as well. I don't have the same resources as Ryan to address your concerns as frequently as he did (once per week), so I try to make answers available to members in the Live From AFF group every week and a half to two weeks. Members also have access to answers through our sitesupport blog. We do not "wank all day and don't give a flying fuck." We care very much about members and their concerns. As for my job here, particularly with this blog, it is challenging sifting through the "I hate this feature and I hate you"s and the "this bug is affecting my experience with this feature." Users have access to me by email, IM, and through the group and blog. If I post a blog about the Message Center and receive comments about something that is not working elsewhere, it may get lost in the shuffle, which is why I particularly focus on what bugs are ailing the system over at the Live From AFF group. Again, each bug is assigned a priority and gets fixed in turn (or not fixed depending on what's critical). AdultFriendFinder is a huge site, and like you pointed out, Spirit, we are sitting on very old, cluttered technology, and when bugs are missed, it's only because it is nearly impossible for us to detect on dev and staging. The new site was abandoned because we are just not able to support the massive site that AdultFriendFinder is and work on completely transferring over everything that is happening here. That is ideal, but the resources are not available for us to do that. So we address the most critical issues first and work from there, but our aim is to present you a good experience. When you guys mention things are not getting fixed, please be more specific. Not everything is going to get fixed immediately, but we log issues constantly and are paying attention to you guys constantly. We are here working to ensure we can fix as much as we can, as fast as we can, and it is not a simple task with limited resources and such a massive operation. If you have specific issues that are affecting your experience, please point them out to me personally, (they may get lost in the shuffle in this blog), but the best place for me to see them is if you email me, or post in the Live group. It is very helpful to me to be able to work on fixing problems when I am addressed with a specific problem and not "everything you put out sucks, everything is broken." Thank you for taking the time to sort through everything on your blog and the AdultFriendFinder Is Live group. I know it takes up a good portion of your time. I appreciate it when you let the members know things are being worked on and what the plans/changes we can expect are. The site has been around since the late 90's and of course has bugs in it..a lot of things need work and the Fab guys in the Tech dept work their butts off trying to keep up with all the new bugs and problems. The BEST way to handle this is as you suggested..email you or post to the Live group, that is why that group is there after all..to make the site a better place for one and all members. Well I certainly did not like and went back to the old message center. several reasons (1) on the new and improved one?? Three emails I can't open. (2) is says 0 pictures, 0 videos. On the old version I have returned to all here, now improved format?? Well returned to the original message center and behold, no email, can open the ones I have all my photos are there plus my videos.

Well I did try it when it first came available and had 2 emails unread in my mail box ( cannot open them) So went back to the old one. Now no choice, still cannot open. Good God, we're back to this piece of crap message center again? All the subject lines have been stripped out, which is insane. The time/date stamps are missing too. And this is the ugliest, clumsiest email interface I've ever seen on a Web site which people actually pay for. There used to be a saying back when customer service was a goal and not a loss leader" that "The customer is always right." Well, realistically that's BS, but when you specifically ask for customer input and then ignore it completely then your customers will soon be gone. Don't be stupid. Give us back the message center that worked right. My matches do not include women several thousand miles form me! Can you also please do something about the extent of the activities listed - I don't want the feature at all but I really see no point in having endless entries for me to scroll through all on the same page. This AdultFriendFinder is "listening" blog is such a joke. You just continue to roll out new features that have bugs in them and are something you come up with in your offices to (as the lady said above) ram down our throats, all the while continue to charge for this crap. Thew new homepage is sluggish and loads certain features very slowly. DO NOT tell me to call tech support or email them. They always tell me they tested the problem I am stating and cannot duplicate it on their end. OF COURSE THEY CANNOT!!! If it were not for the pics and vids and a few nice members, I would leave this place tomorrow. Had a very frustrating conversation with your phone support people. 1. First off, it's clear you don't give a damn about your 'customers' when you demand to know their password as verification. That's one of the 'holiest of holys' and goes against every rule security experts expound. Perhaps I'll change mine to "AdultFriendFinder support are dumbasses" to get their attention. If you refuse, they literally say "than I cannot help you".....really sad and pathetic. Makes me wonder if this is where so many hijacked sites come from. 2. I passed along my thoughts of the new mail and homepage. I wont get into it other than to say it's similar to what everyone here has already said. It's a pathetic moved that alienates more customers than not. It's also extremely poor design. What get's me, and what I want everyone to know and understand. In response to my comments the 'customer service' rep for AdultFriendFinder said "Either take it or leave it, it's your choice"........they must be inundated with complaints, but management has painted themselves into a corner. 3. I've also been a victim of unethical billing practices. I turned all my auto-bill choices to off, yet a few weeks ago I was billed anyways. The cs manager tried to say it had been turned back on for the billing, than was turned off again today. Impossible, since I hadn't been in the settings. Makes me wonder who's in charge of billing. In the end this site hasn't changed. It's 'get your cash by any means necessary'. Perhaps I should take a cue from my bank, who labels AdultFriendFinder as an escort site. Sure are plenty of them here, but at least there's some please in getting screwed by them!

The thing is, the term "old version" is used for the current version which is very very new, and in fact a "new version" compared to a few years ago. Nearly all users objected to the changes then, because the true old version was far better. Everything used to be at one's fingertips. They threw it out and gave us the current useless "new version". I honestly did not think it could get any worse. Now, they are throwing out the current new version and giving us a newer new version, much worse than the current new one, with absolutely nothing useful on the home page. The main feature is the area called Activity. Who cares about people who viewed your profile who hold no interest to you? The list does not even explain what the activity is. LAME LAME LAME. This is newer new version is just shit. When I talk to guys my age, and I explain this site positive features, they just look at me and say, but what in it is useful? They say it sounds like a porn site that doesn't cater to meeting their objective of meeting someone. They are appalled anyone has to pay to send msgs. They want to view cams and chat without being blocked or banned for no reason other than the cam performer seeks a private conversation. My friends are right. The current and newer home page is all about pointless stuff. They don't care about blogs if they can't email freely; they don't care about chat (which barely works) if they can't view the profile; they don't want to go on cam, if others constantly black them from viewing their cam. Other sites have mastered the ability to chat without freezing, allowing 100% free emails, allowing open access to view and chat on all cams freely, and the ability to do all of this without taking up all of the monitor real estate. I believe the staff is on some hallucinogenics in their thought process with their incessant new versions of the home page. This newer new version will be forced on us while it's still in alpha phase of development, just like all previous changes. That means, we will suffer with bugs and changes as weeks and months go by. That's an unprofessional way of running a web site. I stopped paying for a membership when they rolled out the current new version. There's nothing on it for me. The site seems to favor non-paying members anyway. If you pay, everyone bans ya from their cam. No start up cam sites work on a premise that banning people is a good idea. So, why AdultFriendFinder keeps letting cam performers ban everyone, when the cam performer is a freeloader (like I am currently) is not rational. As a freeloader, I can see and get everything I seek on this site now. No reason to pay, and particularly no reason to pay for things I get screwed over on, anyway. AdultFriendFinder lets certain people use as much email as they want. While others have to pay for membership. Why should anyone pay? Just create a new account in the demographic that get it for free. Hence, the reason there are so many fakes on the site. No reason to pay for a site like this, when they punish those who pay and reward those who don't. The site auto bans people from chat who give out "contact" information, according to everyone I've talked with at customer service. They cite the Terms of Use. There are numerous problems with that, legally. First of all, they do not define contact information. Contact information in IT is information that allows someone to make contact. CONTACT is not a phone number or an email address; those only lead to methods of virtual conversation, not contact. Contact information is a home address which allows someone to show up and make contact (touch, physically connect). Second, contrary to customer service, their Terms of Use does not say contact information is a violation. The TOU gives actual specifics that are a violation. Third, the specifics in the TOU are only a violation for the profile, not anywhere else. So, why do they ban for giving out an email or a phone num? Who knows, except to knuckle down on paying members. It's an abuse of their contract with paying members. Again, another reason not to pay.

One thing I think that I, and most others agree with you on is: When the site pushes changes before they are perfected, every paying member has a right to complain. For the cost of this site, paying members should expect to receive a trouble free experience. It's not just that paid members should have a say. They should also be free from having primary options (email) change without notice or option of returning to the prior version. In the email case, there was no advance notice. The 'new' version was demoed, with nothing but negative feedback throughout the site. Forcing 'paid' users to accept a gimped email client with fewer options, limited use, and losing things such as email saved to folders and 'message titles' is unforgivable. The only reason I can come up with for the forced change, is that the designer is in management and was able to impose his will. I see they're trying to stay away from the same 'instant/unexpected' change by giving users a one month warning....sadly we now have to deal with the damn pop down tab every single main page view. Forcing users into gimped options is wrong. Many of these users paid ahead for specific options and usability. I didn't pay for the gimped email client, or the mess of a new front page. Yet part of my membership fees has been with this experience. To make matters worse, any complaint has been met two responses... 1. "Sorry, but there is no going back", and 2. "Take it or leave it". I'm likely going to leave it, and have my account deleted. I have no patience or respect for those that don't offer at least a semblance of respect for their customers. It's simple......we pay you, fund your paycheck, and give you the opportunity to run a business. It's bad enough to ignore popular consensus, but the 'take it or leave it' line is the last straw (all from some outsourced cs agent living 4,000 miles away from the home office). I was on AdultFriendFinder near the beginning, in 1989. You think they would have learned by now......

You nailed it on the head. There is nothing useful among the things you list for the positive aspects of the new home page. NOTHING. The version you called, "classic version" in other posts, was and still remains the version you should strive to attain. All of the iterations of the home page since 2010, are destroying any reason to pay to be on this site. Quote: "Search, What's Hot, and Live Action are consolidated into tabs at the top of the screen" Response: I never search what's hot because you still have bugs in the search. Since 2010 when you retired the "classic version", your searches don't follow the "cupid" preferences. So, why would I want to search on "what's hot" based on anyone's view of "hot" than my own? Live action was moderately useful, even though it did not follow cupid criteria, about 1 in 10 of the listed cams did meet my cupid criteria. Now, you relegate that to the same garbage in "what's hot". Wow. Worthless change. The programmers would spend their time more productively if they just sat and read plato. Snapshot: You provide a snapshot of the new home page. Response: The area called Activity (or latest of Activity) is bizarre. Honestly, what is it? It is nothing I would ever care about. The garbage in it can't be filtered out. It is relegated to the most prominent area of the home page, yet it is junk. Who cares about any of that? The obvious answer is, NOBODY. Quote: "with links to your blogs, groups, and other community activities (including a feed) at the bottom." Response: The very very bottom of the page is probably where they belong. Frankly, I no longer care about blogs or groups or such time wasting stuff that don't relate to me. More importantly, it is not at the bottom, it's on the side. If the management thinks of it as "at the bottom", why put it on the site at all? It is a stupid and horrible management of a site to put anything of everyday value at the bottom. The bottom is where you put least often used (non every day value) links, such as Terms of Use and Phone Numbers for communication to Customer Support, etc. Frankly, I cannot grasp the need of the area called Community on the right side of Activity. It has Active Groups, Active Blogs and Magazine. They have no value added to them, such as my own preferences. As they stand, they waste space on the page. The areas of My Blogs and My Groups are on the left side. That might be appropriate. However, why cut off My Groups after 5? You extend the "Activity" garbage forever and ever and ever. Suggestions: 1) Remove the whole section called Latest Activity from the page. It is a waste of space. Put a link for this in the top menu, or a drop down which lists 5 most recent of each category (viewed, msg'd, hotlisted, flirted) 2) Extend My Blogs and My Groups on the left to full lists. Provide links for full pages for each of these. 3) Rename Friends link, to be My Friends link, and move it from below Videos, to be at the bottom of My Lists, on the left above My Blogs, and list the 12 most recent friends online with very tiny pic thumbnails. Keep the total count as you have now. Provide indicator icons of their chat status and cam status and a text color change if they're online. Provide a link to open a full page of these. 4) Rename Online Matches to be Matches. Use a text color below their name to indicate online or offline. Fix Online Matches so they are ONLY real matches, and not anyone who does not match the cupid settings. Right now, I rarely get anyone who matches my cupid settings in the "matches". If 12 online matches cannot be found, round out the list of 12 with offline matches. A link to full pages of Online Matches and Offline Matches should be evident. 5) Rename "Members Near Me", and "New Members" (members on a porn site sounds like genitalia), to be Matches Near Me and Site New Matches. 6) My Favorite Cams - below Online Matches, put a new section called My Favorite Cams (create this as a new item - independent of "friends"). A person should be able to "favorite" a person on cam (one sided action), and not friend them (mutually agreed two sided action). Put a link to a full page of these. 7) Next put My Friends Cams - Below My Favorite Cams, put a section called My Friends Cams. List as many as 12 of them which are online. Provide a link to open a full page of this. Next My Matched Cams - Below My Friends Cams list 12 cams which match your cam preferences just like they do on the Instant Msgr. Provide a link with it, so someone can open a page with all of the matches, sortable by age, distance, name. This would be a new additional way to view what someone gets with the IM link. 9) Allow users to customize their page so they can oder the sequence of the Matches, Friends Cams, Online Cams, etc. If someone really only wants to see Online Cams on top/first, they should be able to select that the order and have that. 10) Everyone on cam should have a statistic of how many people they have Kicked or Blocked. Kicking should be added for single cam session only. Block should be a ban that is justified with real evidence, screen capture pic or something solid. Eliminate the easy ability for someone to Kick or Block viewer from their cam. If they are a non-paying user of the site, they should not be able to kick anyone. Paying or non paying users should have a form to fill out to identify real abuse and the text of the abuse be verified with a screen capture of the text. If they are a paying member, they should have a slightly more simple version called "Kicking" someone from their cam, but it should only last for that session and be done after they fill out a simple form to explain why. The number of kicks should be limited per day and month based on their membership status. Kicking should have a consequence and hence, identified as a stat on their cam and profile. v/r Dom

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but nearly everything you use to justify an opinion is totally untrue. I read the post you cited and your response, and the response does not address the points of what you cite. You address superfluous aspects, but not the points. If your reply is the attitude of Various Inc, I will also say I will stop paying for premium accounts on this and other VI sites. You are not truthful when you say paying member CAN sent contact info in emails. Totally false. I and many others have run into problem when doing so. First off, there is no mention of "contact" info in the terms of use. The items mentioned in terms of use are mentioned for profile, only. Yet, people get banned for info in a private email, private IM, and in msgs. I checked the terms of use, and nothing in there precludes it. The terms of use, forge a contract with all members (regardless of type of membership), and banning them for arbitrary reason is a violation of federal law - as a denial of service for a contracted service. If VI does not want that information written in an msg or in a chat room or in a private IM, then they should include it in their terms of use. They do not, currently. Standard members come on the site to use cams from with 3rd world countries. They use it to spam and scam. It has nothing to do with what you call contact info. As for cams, this site is behind the times. Banning has become standard. If people want to cam, they are the ones putting themselves out there. Using one of your words, they "objectify" themselves. It isn't the viewer who objectifies them. You really miss the point about cams, though. I cannot mention other sites here, for fear of a ban, but there are many (not owned by V which have open cams. Sure, people who bash and bully can be banned or kicked, but those sites also look at evidence. This site would do much better with more customer friendly cams, and a working IM and a decent group and pvt msg area to go with the cams. But, instead of listening to reasons people are reluctant to pay for the site, you bash them. That's pathetic. You mention a person who does not pay should not complain. The site would not exist if it were not for standard memberships, aka who don't "pay" cash for premium memberships. They pay through the fact there are adverts. They pay when VI re-uses their info on other VI sites. They pay when VI makes their profile prominent on the home pages of users. It is clear the point being made, which you ignored, is that reasons were provided for why someone stopped being a financial contributor, and reasons why his friends said they would not want to join the site. You should be thanking anyone who offers that free advice to VI, instead of kicking them in the ass. But that aggressive anti-customer stance is the way VI is lately.

It makes sense, since some of the people in customer service have no clue either. Some of them don't even know the data options in Account settings. Over the years, I've made dozens and dozens of suggestions to VI, and some of the suggestions which were adopted are fundamental features of the site today. So, I do know that people get banned in emails and pvt IM msgs, when a phone or email is included. They also get auto banned for using key words for competitor emails in msgs. If people are not supposed to be banned, the system should be fixed so it stops banning them. Without even typing anything, the site bans viewers when the cam performer crashes while on cam. Next - You, VI, seem to think that viewers are objectifying people and you tell me I should go to a pay cam model (aka porn) site. AdultFriendFinder is a pay porn site with performers on cam (aka models). I pay for my use on the site, and have done so for years. I also paid for numerous friends' accounts over the years. You make the case that I should leave. It seems like everyone who points out problems, gives opinions about changes, points out bugs, and the like, is invited to leave. Also, someone does not have to go to pay site for good service, there are many true free cam sites, with chat, that is not full of bugs, and people are not told to leave when they point out problems or ask for changes. Next - A customer is not limited to those who buy or pay. That is utter nonsense in every industry in the world. On AdultFriendFinder, a member customer has rights, equal to all other membership types. A contract is set when a person signs up. The level of service differs among membership types, but not rights. Plus, advertisements on a page are a form of payment. Previously, I listed other ways in which people contribute indirectly. However, the statements you made, bring to light the demeaning way everyone at VI treats it's membership customers. Next - Regarding the hidden rules for chat rooms and blogs, that's just arrogant, pompous and anti-customer. Customer service supervisors can't even find those rules. If a Philadelphia lawyer is needed to determine rules of engagement, management has lost site of the site's purpose to exist. But I can confirm to any members who may be interested that JT is correct in what he states here, and that in general he does know what he is talking about, as like some of us he takes the time and effort to find out the realities from accurate sources. Unlike many people who boldly make statements about their wildly inaccurate suppositions, which are based on little or no real understanding of the site, and naive view of the commercial position of the corporate body.

I don't doubt your sincerity, and sadly it seems about the only thing happening on the several help blogs is users helping users. I get an overwhelming sense that the site owners and admins don't give a damn about what their customers really want. It's not about functionality, it's about trying to keep up with the (already tired) simplistic mobile look. Soon this site will be like the Windows Mobile design, dumbed down for the masses. Want proof? Look at the new email client. Simplistic, doesn't take up much space and is visually simple. I've pretty much decided to cancel/delete my account once I've run out in a few weeks. Really, I should demand a refund of my recent purchase , considering how their service was changed 'after' payment (like buying a double burger, paying, and being given a single and being told "that's our new version of the double") "Take it or leave it", right?

Aryana, I have made certain I am using the latest version of Firefox which is my preferred browser. When I click onto my message center there are no messages to either read or respond to. None. It is a blank list. Yet, when I use Safari, the list of messages are there. I don't understand why this is happening. Surely, I'm not the only person using Firefox. One crazy thought is that the filter has filtered out every message. When the old message center was available messages were there. I continue to be prompted to switch to the new homepage. The new homepage looks nice, but it is not fixed. There are more bugs....exterminate the thing. Seriously, fix it and I will switch. I understand that on March 1 you will switch me like it or not, and if on that day it is not fixed, I shall withdraw my Gold membership. I understand AdultFriendFinder will not go under if I stop being Gold, but others will follow suit. Just fix it! Ok, as of today we are on the new Main Page. The Member Activity function still does not work. The blue dots roll as if it is loading, but it never loads. I have tried it in several different browsers and even on another pc in my house. Does not work. P.S. Gold membership is worth about 15.95 per month. Not 29.95.

There is no nice way to put it . . . these new "upgrades" suck; in fact they are more like "downgrades." I like many others am about ready to cancel my gold membership and switch to a competitor. Simple things to fix: 1) Get rid of the stupid Member Activity section all together. I don't care what some putz in Peru is doing or saying. At a minimum give me a way to filter it so I only see local updates. 2) Go back to the old email. 3) Make the cupid settings mean something. 4) and about 100 other items

I see the new Homepage is now up and active with no option of reverting to the old one. What a substandard job AdultFriendFinder did with this one. Bugs are still not fixed, yet it is "Live." You should be giving away memberships to this generic site. Geez. AdultFriendFinder is listening? LOL. AdultFriendFinder is delusional.
